The IT infrastructure & Help-Desk Manager is a key player within IT team in charge of operational requirements related to information technology. His or her main task is to manage the company's IT infrastructure following directions received from the Corporate IT Department. IT infrastructure manager oversees the company's technical staff and work closely with senior management to propose improvements to the business infrastructure and report progress on various projects.
 
Essential Functions:  
  1. Directly supervises members of IT Infrastructure and Help-Desk teams. Responsible for overall management to achieve end user satisfaction. Must interpret policies, purposes, and goals of the organization for subordinates. Act as a link between those teams and the Head of IT in North America.
  2. Helps management to maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees belonging to those teams. Leads, motivate and guide the members of the teams under his management to maintain the highest level of performance.
  3. Prepares regular reports for management and attends meetings to present these findings.
  4. Coordinates and executes all IT infrastructure-based activities and projects according following directions received from the Corporate IT Department.
  5. Assists management in budgeting for IT expenses, including the purchase of new equipment and software when necessary and billing checking
  6. Create, maintain and improve documents/procedures related to IT procedures and help to put them in place.  
  7. Assists to ensure that software licensing laws are followed.
  8. Asset management, including maintenance of infrastructure component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation and contracts.
  9. Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors providing IT related services.
  10. Contributes to team effort by working as technical resource for IT Support Team when required.
  11. Hierarchically reports to the Head of IT in North America and functionally reports to the Corporate IT Infrastructure Manager.
 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  1. Experience of eight to ten years on similar role.
  2. Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications.
  3. Understanding of TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN configuration.
  4. Accountable for the following systems but not limited to:
    1. Microsoft Windows 2008/2012 Servers: AD, DNS, DHCP, File &Print and Terminal Server.
    2. Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 or higher
    3. Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 or higher
    4. Microsoft SQL Servers 2012.
    5. Microsoft Hyper-V Virtualization Platform.
    6. SAN/Storage. VERITAS Backup Exec platform
    7. Azure, Office365.
  5. Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
  6. BSc/BA in information technology or computer science is preferred.
  7. Certification (CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ etc.) is a plus.
  8. Spanish as a second language is a plus, but not required.  
Working Conditions/Physical Effort:
  1. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
  2. Some travel required.
