Job Summary:
The Finance BA should be a motivated, talented individual who has a natural curiosity about the business and an eye to detail. The analyst will be involved with the retail financial systems including Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, General Ledger, and Payroll among other systems.  The analyst must be a problem solver and will lead analysis projects to deliver actionable data-supported insights to the business owners.
The analyst must excel in a dynamic fast paced environment and will work closely with Merchandising Managers, Buyers, Internet Managers and the Programming, Show Planning, Sales and Finance departments to identify business opportunities and risks related to sales, margin and inventory.
Strong analytical ability, strong technical skills, a keen business acumen, and ability to use mathematic and/or statistical data to deliver results are critical to successfully impact the business. In addition, strong oral and written communication skills are very important. The position requires critical attention to detail coupled with a strategic big-picture view of the business. The analyst must be quick thinking and anticipate problems or risks within the business.

Other responsibilities include:
• This includes the ability to monitor business trends to identify opportunities and risks;
• Analyze and evaluate complex financial and inventory data, including variances and trends, to determine changes in key business metrics, and predict future performance;
• This position will provide strategic decision support with a focus on financial forecasting, pricing, margin management and merchandising trends;
• The design, development and maintenance of spreadsheets and templates, including modeling, use of advanced Excel, Pivot tables, and other analysis;
• Analyze created reports to solve business issues and/or offer solutions on a variety of topics within the accounting and finance teams; resulting in verbal and written presentation of findings and recommendations.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
• College degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance or related discipline preferred;
• Experience in forecasting, report development, MS Office applications, proficient in creating Macros and Advanced Excel;
• Ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets;
• Strong financial, analytical and problem solving and troubleshooting skills required;
• Proven ability to explore, analyze and interpret data and present solutions; 
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills; 
• Proven ability to work independently and unconditional commitment to teamwork;
• Key to the success in this dynamic role is relationship building and the ability to review and synthesize analyses into succinct and actionable solutions.
