IT Coordinator

Essential Functions:
The IT coordinator manages a facility’s IT systems which include computers, networks, internet access, telephone lines and other technology; he or she also manages other IT specialists on-site. Under the supervision of teh corporate IT Department will be in charge of:
  1. Install and configure software and hardware (desktop/laptop, printers, smartphones, etc.). Servers and network and security infrastructure are out of the scope.
  2. Collaborate to perform maintenance activities (e.g. backups).
  3. Perform troubleshooting and repairs when computers or other technologies are not working as they should.
  4. Institute protocols for the use of IT across departments and projects.
  5. Act as a link between end users and higher level support.
  6. Provide advice on the most suitable IT choices.
  7. Maintain licenses and maintenance contracts.
  8. Assists management in budgeting for IT expenses, including the purchase of new equipment and software when necessary and billing checking
  9. Deal with manufacturers and service providers so that issues can be resolved more quickly.
  10. Prepares regular reports for management.
 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Proven experience as IT coordinator or similar role.
  2. Experience in network management and help desk support is appreciated.
  3. Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications.
  4. Understanding of TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN configuration.
  5. Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Great attention to detail.
  8. Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
  9. BSc/BA in information technology or computer science is preferred.
  10. Certification (CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ etc.) is a plus.
  11. Experience of eight to ten years on IT Coordinator, IT Support Specialist or equivalent position.
  12. Speaking Spanish as a second language is a plus.  
 
Working Conditions/Physical Effort:
  1. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
  2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  3. Some travel required.
