HR Assistant

MEA Strategic Solutions is seeking an entry level HR Assistant to work at our client site in midtown Manhattan.  This is contract to perm position paying $20/hr.

SUMMARY
The HR Assistant will assist the Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development teams in meeting organizational talent objectives and completing HR related administrative duties.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Support Corporate Talent Acquisition through the new hire process by creating requisitions in company applicant tracking system and posting positions externally, scheduling candidate interviews (phone, virtual, in-person), assisting candidates while onsite, maintaining accurate and current candidate dashboards, issuing background checks and drug screenings, and providing onboarding assistance for new hires.
    • Support recruiting efforts for the Engineering & Finance Development Program, and Summer Internship Program
    • Participate and assist in recruiting events including career fairs and outreach events, university information sessions, and industry conferences while building strategic business relationships with recruiting contacts.
    • Assist in marketing and branding initiatives and strategies including social media platforms, and community outreach opportunities and prospects.
  • Learning & Development
    • Serve as a corporate technical resource for a variety of training technology resources including but not limited to performance management, learning curriculum (LMS), surveys, etc.  
    • Maintain the New York City based learning center, including scheduling, supplies, & cleanliness.
    • Responsible for accurate tracking and reporting of scheduling, attendance, tuition reimbursement, training requests, etc.  Helps track check requests from request to delivery
    • Support creation of training & development materials. (e.g. manuals, job aids, presentations, etc.)
  • General HR Assistance
    • Process HR-related invoices
    • Assist HR Business Partner and HR Generalist in any employee relations matters as needed
    • Assist the SVP HR and the department with administrative duties.
    • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or related degree.
  • 1 - 2 years of previous relevant work experience in a related field.
  • MS Office Experience: Word – Experienced with formatting, mail merge and intermediate level functions /  Excel – Experienced with data entry and pivot tables. / PowerPoint – Experienced with creating professional presentations to be used in training sessions across a wide audience base and varied topics. /  Outlook – Experience maintaining shared calendars  
  • HRIS exposure including learning & performance software and applicant tracking systems
  • Strong technical inclination and interest in data entry features and data analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and very detail oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in high pressure environment.
  • Proactive and solution oriented with a high sense of urgency.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional judgment, discretion and professional courtesy.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a high degree of confidentiality.
