Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for assigned duties to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial and other information as well as providing decision support of business decisions to leadership of various functional areas in the company.  He/ She will be accountable for all areas related to financial reporting on the jobsite.  The Senior Accountant will develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.    
  • Supervise a team of 1-3 office staff to complete required tasks in a timely manner
  • Prepare daily follow-up for all types of entries journal, A/P, A/R
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all monthly financial statements; partial and consolidated
  • During the closing process, conduct pre-close reviews of results to ensure accuracy
  • Perform analysis of the payroll expenses across all business units and departments; investigate and explain significant variances from expected amounts
  • Assist in the month-end general ledger closing and distribution of monthly and quarterly financial statements/analyses to the Corporate Finance Team 
  • Assist in the annual budget and periodic forecast updates as required
  • Assist during mid-year and annual audits
  • Collaborate with external tax consultants on all types of returns; local, state and federal
  • Assign, monitor and analyze accounting department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources
  • Assist with the development of policies and procedures, systems, and special financial studies as required
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned              
  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Must have a minimum of (7) years of Accounting experience.  Construction related accounting experience is preferred
  • Tax experience is a plus
  • CPA preferred
  • Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and familiarity with ERP systems.  ECMS experience is strongly preferred
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, work well under pressure  and meet deadlines as required
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to follow through on commitments and projects as assigned
