Job description

Our client’s IT team is searching for a talented Business Analyst with warehouse management experience to represent IT’s mantra of, “Business First; Technology Second.”  You will join a results oriented team and participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of WMS applications that enable the business to make better more informed decisions.  This is a key role on the WMS team and will work closely with business and IT leaders and users to define, develop and implement the HighJump WMS applications.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gather and document business requirements
  • Create functional specs
  • Be a trusted adviser to the Warehouse Functional Team Leaders 
  • Establish a standard set of management and operational reports to drive consistency, reduce complexity, and ensure accuracy of warehouse data
  • Drive “Data as a Service” model with functional team mates by leveraging our investment in systems to create and maintain stronger, more robust and more accurate analytical tools.
  • Work with functional process owners, end-users, and project team mates to effectively implement successful reporting framework.
  • Provide analytical support and assist in the development of performance metrics, process, and technology solutions for global retail and sales initiatives.
  • Evaluate current planning, allocation, merchandising, operations and finance retail reporting and work with across the business to implement changes.
  • Provides guidance and direction in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our business systems by focusing on both business improvement and business process innovation.
  • Responsible for developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators for the effectiveness and efficiency of technology and business systems
  • Implement best practices to optimize the blueprinting, realization, testing & roll-out phases of respective projects
  • Lead and participate in project phase reviews
  • Partner with Program Management Leadership to meet project roll-out goals and objectives
  • Scopes / estimates work to implement new WMS components and changes to existing solutions
  • Supervises testing in the delivery of key system components and coordinates / leads end user acceptance testing activities – obtains sign off
  • Ensures documentation for standard reports, metrics, and WMS solution objects used by the functional team mates.
  • Engages functional team mates to ensure that the BI vision / reporting solutions are properly communicated and adopted
  • Enforce and Ensure reporting SLA’s are being met on a consistent basis
  • Develop Sustainable Long term Strategy around multiple tools and multiple delivery mechanisms
  • Document SLA for reporting based on report types
  • Responsible for daily support of the data warehouse reporting to wareshouse leadership.
  • Proactively identify potential performance and scalability issues by leveraging HighJump WMS statistics.

  • Exceptional team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of retail math and retail calendars.
  • Experience working in/with teams within a retail department, including planning, allocation, merchandising, operations, finance, and marketing
  • Experience with WMS applications, preferably HighJump
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and committed to meeting deadlines and creating and improving processes
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills are required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical requirements and ultimately project deliverables
 Education and/or Experience                                                          
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering or related discipline
  • 3 years’ experience with WMS applications
