Human Resources Generalist - 16 - 20 week contract (P/T)

MEA Strategic Solutions is conducting a search on behalf of our client in Lawrence, NY for a Human Resources Generalist to cover for the HR Manager who is leaving on FMLA. 

This is past-time (24 hours a week) 16-20 week contract.

Pay is $25/hr.

This is an immediate need that could start immediately.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the on-boarding process, including conducting new-hire orientations, accurate
completion of the new hire paperwork, and E-Verify for Corporate HR.

Responsible for employee relations; handles employee relations counseling; provides advice
and guidance on employee issues.

Support employee health and welfare Open Enrollment process 

Conduct thorough and objective investigations as needed, assess risk and determines
appropriate course of action, working closely with the appropriate Manager and Legal
Department.

Handle supervisor requests and employee issues responsively with discretion and sensitivity.

Assists Training & Development Manager in the planning, monitoring, and appraisal of
employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling
management conferences with employees; listening to and resolving employee grievances;
counseling employees and supervisors.

Management of employee performance review process with Taleo Performance as needed.

Helps to plan and organize company events in collaboration with the Corporate HR Team.

Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains
additional relevant records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

Supervise the monthly and annual employee reporting for parent company.

Coordinate the Internship Program and the Co-Op Program in conjunction with Training &
Development Department.

Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.

Strong business acumen

Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and familiarity with HRIS systems,
particularly Taleo Perform, Taleo Recruit and Ultipro.

Well-developed written presentation, organization, and editing skills.

Strong employee relations skills.

Strong organizational skills and very detail oriented.

Must demonstrate exceptional judgment, discretion, and professional courtesy.

Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a high degree
of confidentiality.
