Director, Retail, Merchandising, and Supply Chain Systems

Our client, a major grocery store chain in St. Louis, MO has engaged us to help fill a key role in the IT Department, Director, Retail, Merchandising, and Supply Chain.  This is an exciting position for someone who wants to shed the technologies of the past and build something new, implementing AWS, cloud based technologies, and leading retail applications.  Is that you?  If so, we want to talk to you.
 
       
The Director, Retail, Merchandising, and Supply Chain Systems will lead application development and solution delivery for a broad portfolio of our client’s systems including retail, merchandising, and supply chain systems. Our client is undertaking a large transformational program to replace legacy systems with new best of breed technology with a bias towards Cloud and SaaS. This leader will have an out-sized opportunity to impact the technology strategy for critical retail systems in a start-up like environment. This leader will manage teams responsible for project delivery, engineering, development, system implementations for large enterprise initiatives. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about retail technology and who can create a culture of innovation and high performance. 
       
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Think and act strategically. Develop and maintain the strategic road map for retail, merchandising, and supply chain systems in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • Establish an organizational structure and build a high performing team that is well positioned for long-term success  
  • Participate in strategic systems optimization activities, including assessment of available features & functionality associated with releases
  • Manage the full life cycle of projects and the associated planning. Ensures that business deliverables are consistently met and that solutions provided meet stringent quality standards
  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders
  • Manage program budget, provide financial forecasts, track project milestones, and deliver expected return on investment
  • Actively collaborates across all levels of the organization
  • Directly manage key vendor and consulting relationships with a high level of accountability and performance oversight
  • Ensure data integrity, system security, and testing of system changes
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Job Requirements
Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have a strong background in retail, merchandising, and supply chain technology, system integration, data architecture, application development, and agile software development methodologies.
  • Significant experience leading technology teams responsible for Point of Sale, Price and Promotions Management, Merchandise Planning and Allocation, Demand Planning, Replenishment, Space Planning, Workforce Management, WMS, Transportation Management, CRM systems.
  • 10+ years of technology experience with Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field
  • 7+ years leading technology teams responsible for developing and delivering retail store and supply chain solutions
  • 10+ years of overall software/systems development experience in a complex enterprise environment
  • 10+ years’ experience with enterprise systems and data integration in diverse technical environments.
  • 5+ years of leading Agile development teams preferably in Scrum and SAFe methodologies
  • Oracle Cloud Retail systems experience is a plus
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams, projects, and processes
  • Deep expertise and experience with solution design and delivery and integration of large-scale complex of enterprise systems
  • Experience managing and planning large technology budgets and forecasts
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
